Four stages of early child development

Please note that no two children develop, grow & learn in the same way or at the same pace. However, children do develop in certain predictable ways. Listed below are the four stages of early child development:

First stage: NEWBORN

0 to 3 months old babies are generally considered as newborns.

Second stage: INFANT

Little ones of age 3 to 12 months are known as infants.

Third stage: TODDLER

1 to 3 years old children are referred to as toddlers.

Fourth stage: PRESCHOOL

3 to 5 years old kids are mentioned as preschoolers.
